Real estate firm signs lease

TAMPA — Jones Lang LaSalle, a real estate firm with offices around the world, announced it will relocate its Tampa office to the SunTrust Financial Centre in downtown Tampa. The company is the exclusive leasing brokerage for the building.

According to a company release, the firm signed a seven-year lease for 10,784 square feet of office space in the Class A office building, located at 401 E. Jackson St. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jones Lang LaSalle says it will house 40 employees in the new space, which it will occupy in the first quarter.

“The new office expands our footprint by almost 4,000 square feet and allows for continued growth as a market leader in the Tampa Bay region and Central Florida,” says Chad Rupp, managing director of the firm.

The real estate and firm currently has offices at 100 N. Tampa St. and 4830 W. Kennedy Blvd., according to its website.

Sharon Bragg, vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, represented the landlord, The Brookdale Group, and Rupp represented Jones Lang LaSalle.

An affiliate of commercial real estate firm The Brookdale Group purchased the 36-story, 527,000-square-foot office building in December 2011. Jones Lang LaSalle says the building is 88% occupied.

Jones Lang LaSalle (symbol: JLL, recent price: $80.79) serves clients in 70 countries in more than 1,000 locations, with 200 corporate offices.
